Trouble Opening QuickBooks 2008? |
 |
If you have experienced QuickBooks starting to load
and then simply disappear, you are definitely not
alone.
A recent Windows update (not a QuickBooks update)
has caused some problems, and the QuickBooks
support group is aware of it. They have posted a fix for
the problem (see the link below).
I'll let you decide if this fix is easy or not, but it should
resolve the problem for you!

QuickBooks 2005 - Say Bye Bye! |
 |
Please be aware that if you are still using QuickBooks
2005, some very important changes are in store
for you at the end of May!
As part of the "QuickBooks
Discontinuation Plan"
(formerly known as their Sunset Policy), the
makers of
QuickBooks will no longer support QuickBooks 2005
as of May 31, 2008.
What does this mean to you? (a lot!) This is a
partial
list of services that will no longer work as of this date:
- All QuickBooks Payroll Services
- Online Banking
- Online Bill Pay
- E-Mail of Invoices, Sales Orders, etc.
- Much More...
If you have any questions about this very pressing
issue,
please contact me. To save up to 20% on your
purchase of QuickBooks 2008,

Client Spotlight! |
 |
If you are planning a vacation, business trip, night out,
wedding, bachelor or bachelor-ette party or just want
to add that little something extra, Company
Car
and Limousine is the right choice!
Company
Car
and Limousine provides Sedan, Limousine,
Limousine Coach and Van service to Cleveland, Ohio
and 450 cities worldwide and they are eager to talk to
you about your special transportation needs.
My project with Company Car and Limousine
was to
help them make a switch from Peachtree accounting
software into QuickBooks, convert their Peachtree
data into QuickBooks format, and also help get their
business-specific software for scheduling tied into
their new QuickBooks file.
Working directly with Steve Qua, the owner of
Company Car, we put an action plan in place
to
accomplish the project with minimal disruption to
the
business, especially the accounting staff.
Because of
some problems we encountered with the Peachtree
data file, I was able to enlist the assistance of the
QuickBooks data conversion team to successfully
assist with that portion of the project.
Once that was done, QuickBooks was installed, links
were made to their scheduling software, and the staff
was trained on the optimum use of QuickBooks.
Minimum hassle. Maximum efficiency.
The tech support department of their scheduling
software company told me this was the smoothest
conversion into QuickBooks they had ever
experienced. Steve, the very amicable president
of
Company Car and Limousine had this to say about
the services I provided for his business:
"In a time when most professional services are far
from professional, Scott Gregory and Bottom Line
Accounting Solutions are a breath of fresh air. Our
project got done on time and on budget; who could
ask for more?"

When Did You Backup Last? |
 |
Protect your critical business data from loss
from
computer malfunction, virus infection, natural
disasters and all other potential problems.
Far better than using an external or flash
drive, the
Mozy online backup service not only automates the
process, but gets you a secure, offsite, version of your
data backup too!
Current statistics show that one in every ten hard
drives fail each year. The cost of recovering a
failed hard drive can exceed $7,500, and success is
never guaranteed. Do you want to be a statistic?

QuickBooks Tip of the Month |
 |
Q: My customer called and wanted to get a status
on their purchase order # 1234. All I see in
QuickBooks is a sales order number and/or an
invoice number, but not their purchase order #. HELP!
A: With just a couple of clicks, you can track
down their order in QuickBooks. Here's how - click
Edit, then Find, then the Advanced Find tab. Scroll
down the Filter list on the Advanced Find window until
you see P.O. Number. Type in the number your
customer provides, then click Find in the upper right
hand corner of the window. Presto - you've now found
it and can help answer their questions!
